“I just hope that people, without making rash judgments on one another, can truly understand that this is one insane person that did such a tragic thing”, she said.

But purple ribbons handed out by ushers during Tuesday night’s service, symbolized that “we stand together”, said Pastor David Uth. “To help the victims directly”.

Members of 94 families who had relatives among the dead and wounded have visited a downtown football stadium where civil agencies are proving relief services, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer told reporters on Friday.

Officials say that families of 24 of the victims from the massacre at a Florida nightclub have been notified.

At the time of the announcement, the fund already listed $1.75 million in donations from the Walt Disney Company, the Orlando Magic, JetBlue, and Orlando’s Mears Transportation.

“The church doesn’t condone the lifestyle, but we don’t hate the people”, Alphin said.

Mayor Dyer said authorities have identified 48 of the 49 victims killed by 29-year-old Omar Mateen, who died in a shootout with police after SWAT teams raided the nightclub. Almost half of the slain victims were Puerto Rican and several were Mexican.

“The minute you have competing funds, all vying for donations, with all their uncoordinated criteria, their wildly divergent amounts that are distributed, it becomes competition”, Ken Feinberg told The Associated Press.

“Your city is with you and will be with you as you contend with this unimaginable process”, said Mayor Dyer. People were encouraged to donate to the centralize One Fund Boston instead of other organizations like United Way. Mina said the investigation would include an effort to determine if any victims were shot by police in the chaos of the final assault. We are encouraged to know that Christians around the world are praying around the clock for the hurting families in Orlando.

Like many ministers who spoke, Dyer said, “We will get through this and we will be stronger because of it”.

Survivors also overhead these calls of solidarity with ISIS, and one witness said reported hearing Mateen say he was motivated to do this so Americans would “stop bombing his country”.
